The Village of Sussex is hiring a full-time Water Operator. The Village operates and maintains five wells, a booster station, four water storage facilities and about 65 miles of water main. Water utility work includes water plant maintenance, lab work, distribution system maintenance, water meter installation and more. Water Operators are part of the Public Works Department, which is responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including street maintenance, stormwater utility, wastewater utility, and special projects. All Public Works Employees are expected to assist in all the identified areas; however, the majority of time for this position will be spent working for the water utility.
