08/16/2018: WWOA would like to share this video with all of our members and non-members alike.  It is always great when our fellow colleagues working to protect and reclaim water are recognized for their work.  The video is of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA0 Platinum award winners for 2018, but this message is that all in the industry are Legends.   We are all heroes doing crucial work for everyone's health and daily life.  Too often our industry is not recognized for the great work that all of you do.  Please take a minute to watch this video and thanks to all of the WWOA heros and legends for all of your hard work.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnaM37hIqPA&feature=youtu.be

07/03/208: The Wisconsin Wastewater Operators’ Association lost someone special this week.   Longtime friend of WWOA and the industry, Leo Templeton, age 96, passed away on Monday, July 2nd.   Leo was a mentor to many in the industry and to WWOA.  After his time in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater, Leo went to work for the City of Manitowoc at the Wastewater Water Treatment Facility and retired in 1987 with the position of Superintendent.  Leo was President of the WWOA from 1980 to 1981.   He was honored with many awards including the George F. Bernauer Award in 1976, the Service Award in 1992, and in 2017 he was honored with a special award for attending his 50th Conference along with Pete Albers.  In 2005 Leo was made Honorary Member of the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators’ Association, an honor that only a few have been bestowed with.  Leo will be remembered for his generosity, wit and smile and his never-ending love for the WWOA and all the people involved with it.  Services for Leo will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Manitowoc, WI.  For more information on the services and visitation, please click here.

05/22/2018: The Wisconsin Wastewater Operators' Association lost a friend, not only to WWOA but to the industry as well.  Jim Miller, MNWOA Secretary/Treasurer, passed away May 21, 2018.  Jim was a Lifetime Member of the WWOA and a fixture with our Operators' Competition as a judge and mentor.  Many members have known Jim longer than they care to admit.  He was always there to help at the WWOA Conference whenever we asked.  Jim will be missed by many here in the WWOA, as well as in the MNWOA.  Services for Jim will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baffalo, MN.  For more information on the services, click here.
