Assist in the operation and maintenance of the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). Perform plant process laboratory testing. Perform normal service work on vehicles, pumps, motors, and other accessory devices on a determined schedule. Interact with members of regulatory agencies and the citizens of the City of Baraboo. Rotates weekend bookkeeping and testing duties with other members in the Utility and is subject to emergency response duty 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate and maintain a variety of pumps, motors, and related equipment at the Water Resource Recovery Facility.
2. Operate and maintain the biosolids conditioning equipment.
3. Maintain the biosolids hauling truck, end loader, skid loader, and pickup stationed at the WRRF.
4. Perform digestor suspended solids test, biosolids cake tests, 1 and 24 hour pH test.
5. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance done on equipment.
6. Adhere to confined space procedures and maintain training.
Peripheral Duties:
1. Haul biosolids to farmers’ fields.
2. Lift station repair and maintenance.
3. Operate Jet Vac and clean sewer collection system. -
Qualifications

Desired Minimum Qualifications:
1. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
2. Establish and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees and the public.
3. Skilled in the operation and maintenance of hand and power tools.
Education and Experience:1. High school diploma or GED;
2. Two (2) years of experience at a wastewater treatment plant is preferred. In lieu of waste-water plant experience; hands-on experience with large pumps, electric motors, mechanical drive equipment, standby generators, welding equipment, and power driven tools will be considered an asset.

Environmental Requirements: Tasks may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions. This position involves periodic confined space entry.
