10/29/2021: Stoughton Utilities just eliminated the last known lead service line in Stoughton, WI following a year-long effort that resulted in the replacement of 699 lead service lines, including both public and private sections of laterals, for residential and non-residential properties.  The completion of this project makes Stoughton’s public drinking water system 100% free of lead service lines.

Wisconsin DNR Secretary Preston Cole was onsite to celebrate the final service line removal last week. A press release is attached, and below is a link to a story ran by the local newspaper, the Stoughton Courier Hub.

More information about our project can be found on our lead public education page at https://stoughtonutilities.com/lead.  We also invite you to reach out to us for more information, and to share our project success with other members that may be looking to replace the lead service lines in their communities.
