About the Position
As a Journeyman Lineworker, you will work within the City of Stoughton and its surrounding service area, covering approximately 55 square miles. You will be part of a dedicated team of experienced professionals focused on maintaining a reliable and resilient electrical system.
This position requires residency within a 30-minute response time of the City of Stoughton.
Schedule & Standby Details
-
Rotating standby duty with additional compensation
-
Respond to after-hours electrical calls during assigned standby weeks*
-
Occasional assistance outside of standby rotations during major events
-
Low volume of standby calls due to proactive maintenance and system reliability
-
Essential position requiring availability during citywide emergencies
Key Responsibilities
The City is seeking a self-motivated, responsible individual with excellent communication skills who thrives in a team environment. Responsibilities include:

Electrical distribution line construction, maintenance, and repair
-
Working in the field for extended periods
-
Accessing work areas by foot, ladder, or elevated platforms
-
Performing duties in varying and potentially hazardous environmental conditions
Qualifications & Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Completion of a four-year electrical lineman apprenticeship or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Valid Wisconsin driver's license
-
CDL with tanker and airbrake endorsements
-
Certifications in CPR, First Aid, Hilti gun operation, and forklift operation
-
Successful completion of a background check, driver's license check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening
Compensation & Benefits

Full-time, non-exempt position

Starting hourly rate of $53.17 – $56.69
