Grant-supported role partnering with Racine Water and Wastewater Utility to develop, implement, and monitor environmental initiatives. Focuses on ESG performance improvement, reducing waste, energy, and water usage, managing sustainability projects, stakeholder engagement, and promoting an eco-friendly culture across City departments.
Essential Duties
• Research and apply for grants to advance sustainable City initiatives.
• Develop policies and procedures for sustainable programs; train City personnel on best practices.
• Assist departments with conservation, transportation, pollution prevention, and climate action strategies.
• Identify energy savings and greenhouse gas reduction opportunities; evaluate feasibility.
• Support implementation of solar PV and renewable energy projects; conduct energy audits.
• Represent the City at external meetings, City Council, boards, commissions, and civic groups.
• Strengthen community partnerships and expand stakeholder outreach networks.
• Consult on Utilities Operations and Capital Improvement budgets.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelors degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, or related field. Experience in project management, data analysis, or environmental advocacy. Strong communication, research, and data management skills.
Preferred: Experience in community outreach and grant management/reporting.
