New Holstein Utilities (NHU) is a municipally owned and operated electric, water, water softening, and sanitary sewer utility serving approximately 2,700 customers in the City of New Holstein (WI) and five surrounding townships. The utility strives to provide economically priced, reliable, and environmentally friendly services and programs. New Holstein is located in northeast Wisconsin approximately 40 miles south of Green Bay and 70 miles north of Milwaukee.

New Holstein Utilities is accepting applications for a Water/Wastewater Operator/Softener Operator. The City of New Holstein has a population of 3,100+ and is in northeast Wisconsin between Lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan. Applicants shall possess or can obtain the proper operator’s licenses and certifications which include a water operator’s license with subclasses D and G, and a wastewater operator’s license with subclasses A1, B, C, L and P. Experienced operators or recent graduates from a technical school with a water and/or wastewater degree are encouraged to apply. We will train an individual with the proper skill sets. Candidates with a Master Plumber Restricted or higher license are encouraged to apply, however this qualification is not required.

The successful candidate will join our team to manage and maintain the water and wastewater infrastructure as required by the US EPA, Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources, State of Wisconsin and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin rules and regulations. The candidate will also maintain the utilities water softener program. The successful candidate must have a good mechanical aptitude. Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are needed. Must be able to perform work safely and efficiently. Ability to operate heavy equipment is preferred. A valid CDL or ability to obtain one is required. Paid on call is required. Overtime work on nights and weekends may be required. Most work will be for the water/softener utility.
