The Village of Howards Grove is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Wastewater Operator. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Village’s wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations while protecting public health and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment and processes
Perform routine sampling, laboratory testing, and record-keeping
Maintain pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
Troubleshoot operational issues and respond to alarms or system failures
Ensure compliance with Wisconsin DNR and EPA regulations
Complete required reports and maintain accurate operational logs
Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response
Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Wisconsin Wastewater Operator Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and laboratory procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in wastewater treatment or a related field
Additional certifications in wastewater operations
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or ability to obtain
