The director is committed to public service and to elevating the quality of life for Lancaster residents and businesses. The director plans and oversees all Public Works operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include streets, drinking water, sanitary and storm sewers, wastewater treatment, parks (including pool and golf course), trees, municipal buildings, the airport, and safety. The director manages City crews, and works with City leadership, consultants, and contractors in areas such as budgeting, construction, and capital investments.
Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate experience and training that provide
the knowledge, skills, abilities, and vision necessary for the job. The role is primarily
administrative: Candidates must be organized, focused on solving problems, effective in
meetings, and proficient in computer operations and software. But the director also
works in the field when necessary, and operates a range of machinery, tools, and

Compensation: This is a salaried position; pay is $80,000+ (based on qualifications).
