President's Message

What an Amazing Profession

This profession is something to be proud of!  Not only is this a great profession with amazing people in it, but it is also a profession that truly does good every day.   This is a profession that keeps our water and environment safe and clean. 

In one way or another, we protect people, plants, animals, fish, and many other things on a day-to-day basis.  Not too many people can say they do that every day.  Not too many people understand what we, in our profession, do and they do not understand how important the work is that we do. 

The good thing is, that all of us that are a part of the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association, understand how amazing our job is and that we conquer incredible obstacles day in and day out to keep our environment clean.  We do it well and we do it without big pay and without a lot of acknowledgements from others.  We also do it with the help of each other. 

As the 2022 Annual Conference in Green Bay ended many are already looking forward to the 2023 conference at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells.  The Annual Conference is when many of us get together and share stories and experiences and learn from one another.  This is when we help each other by sharing solutions to problems.  If there is one thing about our organization, it is that we care about our fellow workers in this profession.  We come together like family to solve problems and we are excited to share experiences. 

As we all know, we spend as much time at work if not more than we do with our own personal families.  We tend to spend more time with our “work” families.  I am truly blessed to have a great work family and have had many great work families over the years.  I have been surrounded by great people at work over the years and every time I go to a WWOA Regional meeting or the Annual meeting, I end up being surrounded by great people. 

I am truly humbled to be your President for the next year.  There are so many incredible people in this organization.  There are many people that donate and dedicate valuable time to make sure our organization stays strong and survives.  I am honored to be a part of it.  It is easy and enjoyable to be a Board of Director for the WWOA because of the people on the Board and those in the organization that make it a success.
