The City of Fort Atkinson Wastewater Utility is accepting résumé’s for the position of Wastewater Utility Operations Specialist. The Utility is anticipating several retirements in the 1-4 year time frame and is looking for qualified candidates who are ready to work and learn in a team atmosphere. The successful candidate will start at the Specialist level and work in several key areas of the Utility including laboratory/process control, soils, and maintenance with an emphasis on process equipment maintenance. Through a combination of prior work/school experience, on the job, and external classroom training, the Specialist will acquire the knowledge, ability and the opportunity to advance to the Technician level when an opening exists.

The successful candidate should have as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, but could have an associate’s/bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent work experience that demonstrates the capabilities, decision making skills, and experience we need. The Utility can be flexible with starting dates for the right candidate.

Must have or be able to attain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Must have or be able to attain certification by the WDNR as a Wastewater Operator Grade 2, with sub-grades A1,B,C,D,L,P. Training is provided.
