Wastewater Treatment Laborer

City of Columbus Waste Water Treatment Plant is seeking qualified applicants for a full­ time Wastewater Treatment Laborer position. The successful candidate is responsible for process control, including troubleshooting, monitoring and operation of the wastewater treatment plant - including buildings and grounds, the sanitary sewer collection system and lift stations. Work in this team environment involves a variety of maintenance duties in    the    sewer    utility    and    in    cooperation    with    other    City    departments.

Minimum requirements for the position: High School Diploma, Wisconsin Driver's license, Class B COL with appropriate endorsements or ability to obtain within 1 year. Associates Degree in water/wastewater related field desired but not mandatory.

Regular working hours are 7:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday  through Thursday,  and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Required rotating on-call weekend schedule every 3 weeks for basic plant duties - 2 hours per day.

Hourly Wage Range: $19.50 to $25.50 per hour depending on qualifications.  The City offers a comprehensive and excellent benefit package.
