Operator I: $19.86 - $27.19/hr

Operator II: $21.05 - $28.68/hr

General Description(s):         

The Lake Geneva Utility Commission is seeking to recruit an energetic, independent, well organized, community oriented individual to join our team of Wastewater professionals.

This position will be focused on the keeping of field records, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and construction related activities within the Utility’s collection system. Tasks related to the remaining operations of the Wastewater Utility, along with working with Water Utility personnel to assist with activities within the municipal drinking water treatment and distribution system will also be assigned as needed.

This position is subject to rotational after-hours, weekend, and holiday work.


Candidate must have computer knowledge; capable of using SCADA control and GIS systems, be able to use Office programs, and work within spreadsheets and word documents.

Valid Wisconsin Regular Driver’s License is required and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in utility operations or construction, and/or experience with plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance. Preferred candidates will also have at least two (2) years of experience relating to the construction, repair, and maintenance of collection and/or treatment systems.

Ideal Candidates will have supplementary education courses in utility operations, environmental science, public health or a closely related field, and/or at least five (5) years of progressive municipal wastewater utility work; and possess Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wastewater Operator’s Certificate; A1 – Suspended Growth, B – Solids Separation, C – Biological Solids, L – Laboratory, N – Nitrogen, and SS – Collection System.

Selection Process:

Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest and detailed resume to the attention of the Utility Director as addressed below. Preliminary interviews and reference check will be performed with selected applicants, with secondary interviews being performed for final candidate selection.

Selected candidate may be subject to job related testing and will be subject to a background check and pre-employment drug screen and physical.
