STORMWATER COORDINATOR - La Crosse

The City of La Crosse is accepting applications for a full-time Stormwater Coordinator in the Stormwater Utility. The purpose of this position is to perform professional work involving water resource considerations within the Stormwater/Wastewater/Water Utilities. The Stormwater Coordinator runs the City’s MS4 program. This work involves performing investigations, technical analysis, the development and implementation of policy and compliance enforcement of applicable law to protect stormwater quality and groundwater impacts from stormwater within the city. The position will lead the La Crosse’s BMP maintenance program and provide direction to Utility maintenance and repair projects including directing utility crews, running maintenance contracts, and working as part of a crew. This position works under the general supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent.

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, Geography/Geology, or other related degree with an emphasis in water studies. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to meet these standards and result in the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position will also be considered. A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), minimum class A, with Tanker Endorsement, or ability to obtain CDL within 90 days in position is required. CPR and First Aid certifications are required within one year of hire. Starting wage for this non-exempt position is $25.19 to $28.85 per hour (80 hours bi-weekly), subject to department budget and candidate qualifications.

Selected candidate is subject to a background check and post-offer/pre-employment drug screen.
