JOB SUMMARY

The primary role of this position is to provide support to the Pretreatment and Hauled Waste Programs under the guidance of the Pretreatment Program Coordinator. This position will be responsible for assisting with the administering the industrial pretreatment program in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Pretreatment Duties

o   Review and maintain data and reports used to submit to the DNR for compliance.

o   Assist Field Services with collecting compliance monitoring samples at industries.

o   Assist Field Services with conducting annual compliance monitoring inspections at industries in accordance with the Federal and State Pretreatment Regulations.

o   Lead NEW Water’s Industrial Achievement Awards.

-          Hauled Waste Duties

o   Select, collect, and transport hauled waste samples to NEW Water’s internal laboratory.  Complete chain-of-custody and other regulatory paperwork.

o   Restock materials and maintain cleanliness and organization of the hauled waste receiving site.

o   Review, edit, and enter transaction information into septage receiving software, as needed, to ensure accuracy for treatment plant records and invoicing.

o   Review, analyze, and maintain hauled waste analytical data and transaction information.

o   Audit equipment integrity at septage receiving stations.

o   Review CCTV recorded video periodically and as needed to assist with investigations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The individual must be an upper class undergraduate or graduate student working toward a degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, biology, or a related discipline.
