WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT MAINTENANCE OPERATOR

City of Watertown Wastewater Treatment Facility is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Wastewater Maintenance Operator. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining pumps, fans, valves, blowers and miscellaneous equipment in the collection system (lift stations) and wastewater treatment plant operations which includes weekend laboratory operations on a rotating schedule.

Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with excellent work record and able to work with minimum supervision. This position is part of an on-call rotation and must be able to respond within (60) minutes. Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics is essential. The individual filling this position must possess a CDL with appropriate endorsements or have the ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire and a clean driving record. Qualifications: Wisconsin driver’s license, high school diploma and 3 years’ experience in trade, vocational or technical school degree/courses in related fields and/or experience along with knowledge and training in wastewater treatment plant and collection system is desirable. State of Wisconsin Wastewater Operators certification is desirable but not mandatory. Candidate will perform a variety of preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical machinery and equipment, and perform general maintenance and repairs on building structures and grounds. This job also performs routine wastewater treatment plant operations as scheduled.

Starting compensation is $21.60 to $24.00, DOQ. This is a full-time hourly position with current normal work hours from 6 am to 2 pm Monday – Friday with a weekend rotation schedule. (7 am – 3 pm shift will also be considered) Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
