We are seeking a high-energy individual who is competent to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and document a wide variety of industrial instruments which include electronic monitoring, metering, controlling and signaling devices used in the treatment and processing in the drinking water and wastewater treatment industries. The work covers the entire industrial instrumentation and telemetry trades, and the incumbent is expected to often work independently due to the specialization of the work. The incumbent is also required to have a high level of knowledge, skills and abilities, including the ability to troubleshoot telemetry, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and programmable logic controllers (PLC) software. Emergency response is required.
Education or training beyond high school in instrumentation, control systems, along with PLC programing is through an accredited college or through equivalent job experience. Knowledge and experience working with Rockwell PLC’s and software is desirable.
Experience as an Instrument Technician in a water or wastewater treatment facility, manufacturing environment, industrial maintenance environment or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training is most preferred. The hiring range is $26.98-$33.73/hour, with the ability to earn up to $40.48. The City of Appleton offers an excellent fringe benefit package.
