From wwoamail at wwoa.org Fri Aug 19 15:08:13 2011 From: wwoamail at wwoa.org (Mailing List for the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association) Date: Fri, 19 Aug 2011 20:08:13 +0000 Subject: [wwoamail] Rectangular Primary Clarifiers Message-ID: Would like to know how you keep chains from icing up in winter. In the past we shut our drives off overnight and only operated them before and after pumping primary during the day. Now we have started pumping primary by automated valves on a 24 hour basis and would like to keep this up during the winter but fear that ice will build up on the drive chains and jump off the sprockets or break. We run only one shift 7 to 3:30. Any help would be appreciated. Terence L.
