The Third Annual Jammin'4Water 2015 will be held in Chicago on Saturday, September 26 at 6:00 pm at Redmoon Events Veune. 2120 Jefferson St, Chicago, IL 60616 (www.redmoon.org). More than 70 artists have expressed an interest in performing. What started out with a few people Jammin' one weekend has turned into something special. WDHS issues interim guidance on Ebola patient waste disposalOctober 23, 2014
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services issued interim guidance on the safe disposal of Ebola patient waste in sanitary sewers. A special benefit of membership in the WWOA is eligibility towards receiving financial aid for college expense. Three, $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year during the annual conference to help offset the education expense of members' children or grandchildren. Eligible students must be at least a second semester student in a degree program supportive of the wastewater field. Crane Engineering has agreed to again fund one of the $1,000 scholarships this year. Be sure to download and check out the details.
New Scholarship Announcement:
North Central Laboratories has generously offered a two year scholarship to a student enrolled in a wastewater related field in the amount of $ 5,000.00. The student will receive $ 2,500.00 for their Junior and Senior year for a total award of $ 5,000.00. The WWOA scholarship committee will review the submitted applications and make the decision on the award recipient. A big thanks to Mike Raynovic and NCL for their generous support of the WWOA and the wastewater field.
Tuition Aid: The purpose of tuition aid is to encourage the continued education of members of WWOA through the attendance of advanced seminars related to wastewater treatment or for credit courses taken at a technical school or college while working towards a degree related to the wastewater/water industry.
